I trained in Fashion and History of Costume. My career was as a Costume designer with the BBC in London. I have written extensively for Thames and Hudson on History of Costume and related subjects.
My interest is in stitched collage, with the use of period fabrics, stained and oiled brown paper, coloured papers and newspaper, my work is often enhanced with coloured inks, dyes, paint and bleach. Main inspiration is from countryside, trees and woodlands. Antique embroidery, Oriental rugs often influence colour pallet
