The project featured workshops where students were taken on a local walk to collect ideas and information and then these were developed back in the studio taking students from the physical experience through to the journey of producing a piece of artwork. The show includes prints and mixed media paintings by ARTedge artists and some of the work done by workshop participants. Sat 9th May Mon 25th May 2009 Diana Baur Inside Out - Time and Place Llanarmon DC, Village, Glyn Ceiriog Continually group "Inside Out - Time and Place", an exhibition of art work outside in the village of Llanarmon DC, is taking place in May 2009. It show cases works from approximately 30 local artists, including a number of BVA members. The exhibition runs from Sunday 10th May until Monday Bank Holiday 25th May inclusive. It starts with an open evening at The Hand Hotel at 7.30 pm on Saturday 9th May, followed by a tour of the exhibits. At its closure on Bank Holiday Monday, some of the artists will be working in the village and available to talk to visitors about their work. Entrance to the exhibition is free. Bring your friends and join the artists for drinks and the tour on Saturday 9th, come any time during the fortnight to see the works, come on Bank Holiday Monday and meet and talk with the artists! Other artists in the show include Jenny Jones, David Millward,Sara Philpott , Ivan Knapp and John Lavrin. Maes Mawr is about halfway between Newtown and Llanidloes, just after the Caersws rail crossing on the A489. Their latest exhibition will be held this April; from Friday the 10th, until Monday 4th May, at the Workhouse Gallery, The Workhouse, Llanfyllin. The preview evening will be from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm on Thursday 9th April. The group, consisting of Johann & Wolfe van Brussel ? Mirage Glass, Anne Collins, Philippa Hughes and Rachael Montgomery will be displaying an exciting new range of glass art. Anne Collins said: ?Whilst we are all glass artists, we have totally different styles yet compliment each other. We thought it would be stimulating to work together not only for exhibiting. As we are all available for commissions, this means our capabilities, by sharing our resources, expertise and creative talents, are endless for creating large scale works? for private, public and architectural clients. Wolfe van Brussel, who formed Mirage Glass in Llangedwyn 30 years ago, is recognised internationally for her traditional leaded glass work combining it with kiln-fired painting, sandblasted etching and mosaics. Her husband; Johann, specialises in the ?Tiffany? technique creating beautiful copper foiled decorative pieces. Anne Collins, who has her glass studio in Llanerfyl, creates colourful, functional fused glass bowls, door and wall panels as well as funky garden sculptures and furniture. Philippa Hughes from Llansantffraid Y.M. specialises in cast and fused glass pieces, combining them with state, clay, stone and wood. Rachael Montgomery from Oswestry, graduated from Newi 2006, has developed a unique architectural glass style by creating glass panels for windows and decorative screens, as well as contemporary glass jewellery Ends.
